 সকল বিষয়েই সর্দারি করতে যাওয়া ভোলানাথের ভারি একটা বদ অভ্যাস। যেখানে তাহার কিছু বলিবার দরকার নাই, সেখানে সে বিজ্ঞের মতো উপদেশ দিতে যায়, যে কাজের সে কিছুমাত্র বোঝে না সে কাজেও সে চটপট হাত লাগাইতে ছাড়ে না। এইজন্য গুরুজনেরা তাহাকে বলেন 'জ্যাঠা'- আর সমবয়সীরা বলে 'ফড়ফড়ি রাম'। কিন্তু তাহাতে তাহার কোনো দুঃখ নাই, বিশেষ লজ্জাও নাই।
