 দেশভ্রমণ শিক্ষার একটি প্রধান অঙ্গ বিদ্যালয়ে পাঠ্যপুস্তক হইতে আমরা যে শিক্ষা লাভ করি, তাহাতে প্রত্যক্ষ জ্ঞান হয় না বাড়ীতে আরামে বসিয়া আমরা ভূগোলে নানা দেশের কাহিনী পড়ি। কত বিচিত্র দেশ, কত বিচিত্র তাহাদের অধিবাসী, আর বিচিত্র তাহাদের সামাজিক রীতিনীতি ও জীবনযাত্রা প্রণালী। পুস্তক পড়িয়া আমরা এই সমস্ত দেশ সম্বন্ধে জ্ঞানলাভ করি বটে, কিন্তু সে জ্ঞান সম্পূর্ণ হয় না। দেশ ভ্রমণ না করিলে তাই শিক্ষা অপূর্ণাক্ত। এই জন্য ইউরোপ, আমেরিকা প্রভৃতি পাশ্চাত্ত্য দেশগুলিতে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রদের জন্য দেশভ্রমণের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। আমাদের দেশেও অদূর ভবিষ্যতে এ ব্যবস্থা প্রচলিত হওয়া নিতান্ত প্রয়োজন।
